Honesdale PTA, Inc. Honesdale, PA 18431
Celebrating 45 Years of Honesdale PTA
|
We would like to take this opportunity to ask you to become a
member of the Honesdale PTA! Our PTA is a key link that brings
parents, teachers, community members and school administrators
together on matters regarding the well-being of children. As a
member, you will be informed of issues that affect our children and
be afforded the opportunity to participate in programs that make a
difference in our children's lives.
For more than a century, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has
provided support, information and resources to families focused on
the health and education of children. The organization was founded in
1897 in Washington DC as the National Congress of Mothers by Alice
McLellan Birney and Phoebe Apperson Hearst. If not for these women
and their vision and determination, there would not be a PTA—an
organization that has been woven into the very fabric of American life.
The mission of the Parent Teacher Association is to:
 | | Support and speak on the behalf of children and youth in the schools and before |
| | governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
|
 | | Assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children.
|
 | | Encourage parent and public involvement in the schools of this nation.
|
Another benefit of becoming a member is having access to the National PTA website. On the back | | of your membership card is the National PTA website address, along with your user name and password. There you can learn of the numerous benefits available to dues-paying PTA members.
Please join Honesdale PTA for only $6.00 per member by completing the membership form and returning it with your payment to your child's teacher.
